Patch Meaning: During the late 17th and early 18th century, pirates and Privateers often flew flags with mixed elements of a skull/skeleton/bones, a spear through a red heart, and a red hourglass.
The hourglass symbolized that “time was running out” for peaceful surrender and that No Quarter would be given (ie: no prisoners taken) in the event of resistance during armed boarding.
Basically this patch means Surrender peacefully or be killed to the last man!
